    My Plan for the Weekend

    It has been extremely hot in Shanghai recently, so I have decided to cancel my hiking trip for tomorrow.

    How hot is it? Well, there’s an insect called the cicada here. Normally, the cicadas make loud sounds at noon on hot days. But yesterday, I fell asleep to the cicadas’ sounds at midnight. (更多…)

    Clean air conditioner

    I cleaned my air conditioner a few minutes ago.

    In the past, I used to place an order online for a professional to clean my air conditioner every six months. It was a little bothersome because I had to spend half a day waiting and helping them proceed.

    Last year, one of my friends told me there was a handy new product that could do this job very quickly. It’s a spray developed by a big local brand. I just need to open my air conditioner baffle, remove the filters, and spray the inside of the air conditioner. Then I rinse the filters with water and put them back into the air conditioner after 15 minutes. (更多…)

    I recently saw some videos about foreigners visiting Shanghai, and most had the same itinerary.

    Perhaps they were following the same travel advice, or maybe they just happened to have the same friend.

    A small crab

    As usual, I went jogging along the river near my apartment this evening around dusk.

    Many people were fishing by the river. I like stopping to see their catches.

    One of them, an old man, had just caught a crab. He needed to lift the string, remove the string from the crab’s leg, and hold the crab at the same time. But as you know, he only had two hands, so it was a little bit of a struggle for him to do it. (更多…)
